Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt won the men’s 100m gold!

Bolt won the 100 meters in a time, 9.69 seconds, that broke his 11-week-old world record of 9.72 and could have been much faster had he not turned the end of the race into Carnival. His rivals still couldn’t catch up. Richard Thompson of Trinidad and Tobago ran a personal-best 9.89 and was farther from first than any Olympic silver medalist since 1984. Walter Dix of the United States was third in a personal-best 9.91, and Churandy Martina was fourth in a Netherlands Antilles-record 9.93.

Jamaican Shelly-Ann wins gold in the women’s 100m dash and her Jamaican teammates tied for two silvers.

Shelly-Ann Fraser completed a gold-medal Jamaican sweep of the 100-meter dashes at the Olympics on Sunday, winning the women’s race in 10.78 seconds. Teammates Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart tied for second.

Kobe Bryant and Chris Bosh each scored 18 points for the United States (3-0), which moves on to a matchup of Group B unbeatens Saturday night against world champion Spain. The winner will earn the group’s top seed for the quarterfinals.

Dwyane Wade added 17 points and LeBron James scored 13.
