According to the associate press Foxy Brown will be released from Rikers Island jail today.
“She did every single minute of her bid in jail, and she did it under the most severe conditions,” Chaz Williams told Billboard.com. “They had her on continuous lockdown just because she is a celebrity. They were trying to break her spirit.”
The funny thing is, lately the women in Hip Hop has been doing more time behind bars then the men. First, Lil “Plastic Face” Kim did a little bid, then Foxy sat in Rikers for about eight months and Remy Ma is about to go up, these are some tough chicks.
I hope that Foxy learned her lesson. Which she probably didn’t! We’ll she how long it takes here to smack a b!t&h.
There has been reports of Foxy Brown being released from jail.
“Foxy will be released on April 18th,” Foxy’s manager and CEO of Black Hand Entertainment, Chazz Williams told SOHH. “[She’s] is not getting out early. Foxy served her entire sentence [under] good time, that is, days deducted by the law, that every prisoner gets unless its procedurally taken [away] for breaking prison rules.”
She has been down for a little minute, I guess it’s time for her to come home and get her weave and other stuff together!
On January 17, Brown’s attorney Laura Dilimetin asked acting state Supreme Court Justice Melissa Jackson to amend the rapper’s sentence, so she could visit Los Angeles’ House Clinic tomorrow (January 30), where she received her initial treatment for her hearing loss.
Seven days after the request, the New York judge has denied Foxy Brown’s request to be released from jail early so she can travel to California.
I’m tired of them treating Foxy like she some killer or something! She has done enough time already for a bullsh!t probation violation charge. They need to let my chick go for real!
Foxy “Jail Bird” Brown allegedly got into a fight with her cell mate, had an altercation with a C.O.(correctional officer), and then refused to take a random drug test. As a result, she has been sentenced to 76 days in the box(solitary confinement) after she received three disciplinary tickets.
I like Foxy and all but she is dumb! She is going to have to do the whole year now! The judge isn’t going to let her out early for good behavior if she’s up in there wilin’ out like that! SMH!
Foxy Brown has started a site www.FreeFoxy.com as a means keep in touch with her fans. Even though she’s locked up, through a outsider, she’s in full control of the content and the structure of the site.
Foxy released a statement saying,
“I am in great spirits and very focused, and needed a forum to communicate to the people.
That’s creative, do it mob style, operate business from behind bars! I said it once, i’m going to say it again, Foxy did not deserve a year for violating probation! Ni&&as get less time for way worst crimes. Free Foxy Brown
Despite being locked up Foxy Brown is still releasing her new album, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, on November 20. The new record will be released through KOCH/Black Hand Entertainment and “Don’t Surrender,” will be the first lead single.
Foxy said in a statement,
“This is just a temporary situation, I made my bed and have no problem lying in it. My will is steady. What doesn’t kill me will only make me stronger. I think there are greater injustices in America that require our immediate attention, like what’s going on in Jena, Louisiana. I will not surrender. I’m fine. Free Jena 6!”
Foxy Brown was in court today(September, 7) for a hearing on her recent probation violation charge. Foxy was on three years probation after attacking two manicurists(more than likely Korean) at a Manhattan nail salon in August 2004. Since then she had several other probation violations in which she’s never done time for.
Now Foxy’s begging the judge to let her off and pleading that she has changed.
“I’m willing to do whatever I need to do to change, I realize that’s not where I want to be. It’s humbled me in ways I never imagined.”
The judge replied,
“Ms. Marchand, it’s too little, too late, the defendant knew she would face a year in jail if she violated probation. I’m glad you’re learning something; that’s a positive.”
